SETUP - RUN SWITCH
Set Up Mode
The enclosure door interlock switches are bypassed.
This allows the machine to run with the doors open
while the machine is being setup.
Run Mode
In this switch position the enclosure door interlock
switches are functional and all the enclosure doors
must be closed to run the machine. If any of the doors
are opened in this switch position the hand clutch will
be disengaged, but the revolving spindles will not stop.
Once the door is closed the hand lever selector switch
will have to be used to engage the hand lever.
CYCLE SELECT KEY SWITCH
This 4 position selector switch allows the setup man to
immediately choose which index cycle is required for the part
that is being setup. Simply turn the key to N cycle, 45 cycle,
60 cycle or 75. Any cycle can be programmed in the N
cycle position. It can be customized to run at a special cycle
speed if the job requires it. No more belt pulley changes
are needed.
STOP
This will stop the machine the same as the standard Davenport“
3 push button control. The main drive motor stops.
LOCKOUT - RUN - TAGOUT MODE
Lockout Mode
This trips the main circuit breaker. It can not be reset until
the switch is turned to run mode. The breaker can then be
manually reset to restore power to the machine.
REVERSE - FORWARD SWITCH
This selector switch allows the setup man to backup the machine.
Either during setup mode or in case of a machine smash up.
The cycle speed is 45 cycle in reverse for safety purposes.
Switching back to forward will return the machine back to its
original cycle speed.
USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN REVERSING
THE MACHINE TO AVOID MACHINE DAMAGE
OR OPERATOR INJURIES.
JOG - RUN
This selector switch when in Jog mode will bypass the door
interlock switches and the hand lever In and Out selector switch.
It also only allows the machine to Jog at 45 cycle no matter what
cycle speed is selected on the cycle select drive Push Buttons.
When this selector switch is turned to Run mode the door
interlock switches and the hand lever In and Out Push Buttons
become active. The revolving head spindles will rotate in both
Jog and Run modes by pushing the start button.
However, if the enclosure doors are open in Run mode the
hand lever can not be manually engaged because the hand
lever brake is active.
HAND LEVER OUT
This push button allows the operator to externally
control the hand clutch lever, while the machine is running,
by pressing the button. The operator can
press the button to make the hand clutch lever move to the
OUT position. This push button will not function if the
Jog/Run selector switch is in Jog mode or the Setup Run
selector switch is in Setup Mode.
HAND LEVER IN
This push button allows the operator to externally
control the hand clutch lever, while the machine is running,
by pressing the button. The operator can
press the button to make the hand clutch lever move to the
IN position. This push button will not function if the
Jog/Run selector switch is in Jog mode or the Setup Run
selector switch is in Setup Mode.
FEED START - FEED STOP
This selector switch is active when ever the machine power
is turned on. It allows the operator to start or stop the machine
from feeding out the stock. This can be done with the enclosure
doors open or closed.
START
This will start the machine the same as the standard Davenport
3 push button control. The Main drive motor starts
DOOR INTERLOCK SWITCHES (Located in the enclosure)
Enclosure and stockreel cover doors.
These switches actuate the hand lever brake. If a door
is opened in Run mode the hand lever will be pulled out
of gear, stopping the machine from indexing. It does not
stop the revolving spindles from turning. Once the open door
is closed the hand lever will have to be put back in gear using
the hand lever In and Out push buttons.
The hand lever selector switch will not function when the
enclosure door is open in Run mode.
E-STOP (Located on top of the enclosure)
These locking push buttons will stop both the revolving spindles,
and the hand lever will be pulled out of gear, stopping the machine
immediately. The machine can not be restarted until the E-Stop
push button is unlocked.
